Telerin

The Language of the Sea Elves
Telerin was the ancient language of the Teleri, descended from Common Teleri and Primitive Elvish. After crossing into the West, the Teleri remained on the isle of Tol Eressëa for many years. During the time in which they were apart from their Noldor and Vanyar kin, Telerin developed seperatly from Quenya. After their arrival in Aman, some considered Telerin to be a dialect of Quenya, but the Teleri believed it to be a seperate language, calling it Lindalambe or "tongue of the Lindar". However, for Quenya speakers, Telerin was a closely related language and still greatly mutaually intelligible.

The Telerin of Aman is the least changed of the languages descended from Common Telerin, spoken by the Teleri on their long journey from Cuiviénen to the Western Shores of Beleriand. From Telerin comes both the Sindarin and Nandorin tongues
